Quran Surah 2 Al Baqarah, Ayat 16-24

Quran 2: 16-18 Who bartered with guidance for error their traffic is profitless They have lost true direction Their similitude is a man who kindled fire when it lighted all around him God took away the light and left darkness They could not see, deaf dumb blind, they will not recover

With knowledge comes responsibility

Anger can close off many opportunities

A man follows advice if it makes sense to him

A distressed man doesn't rationalize his injury

The suffering of pain tends to extinguish a mans hope

Quran 2: 19,20 Like a rain laden cloud from the sky with zones of darkness thunder lightning They press their fingers in their ears to keep out the thunderclap in terror of death Lightning blinds their sight while the way was lighted they walk when darkness grows they stand still if they lost hearing and sight

A man who harbors rage nonetheless avoids feeling provoked

Sorrow within a man always finds some way out

Outrage which has not outlet paralyzes the man

A man's fury swallows his conscience

Infuriation dispossesses a man of control over himself

Quran 2:21,22 Adore those who came before you that you may honor their memory The same soil is your seat and the same sky is your canopy Rain water is sent down between them to nurture life and brought therewith fruits for sustenance Do not set up a rivalry of yourself with history

The softening of the heart begins with observing mankind

A man who dislikes humanity loses love for himself

The life story of those who died long ago supplements your place in time

A man who reflects on past generations becomes gracious

A man who contemplates life which came before discerns himself as portion of something with bigger meaning

If a man closes his heart to the past lives of men he won’t realize how lovely he truly is

Quran 2: 23,24 If you are in doubt from time to time about what we told you then try to give the same idea in another way Call witnesses, helpers to guide people away from unnecessary suffering At least agree the dangers of mankind’s wrongdoing which propels self destruction

One description may carry many different meanings to people

A description may appeal to others differently even if it has the same meaning

Every man will approach a subject differently based on his character

One man’s strength may be another man’s weakness

Young people suffer to grow any direction when there are no role models

Closing your heart to others danger is equal to hating yourself
