Quran 2:65,66 Sunday is the day of rest and contemplation about God A man who forgets this day will not have synchronized his spirit with higher thoughts he will move instinctually without these thoughts, earning some spite and rejection about it
All men should rest from labor and services together to
show peace among men
Men who always work and never rest lose their sense of
life
Planning ahead is more fruitful than relying on instincts
Instinctual behavior without forethought is animal behavior
Men bear responsibility for the character of their forward thinking
Quran 2:67The Israelites with Moses in their own time and
for their own posterity were made lessons using examples The sacrifice of the
cow is a lesson and example The Israelites told Moses, you are purposely
humiliating us Moses told the Israelites, your likeliness to repeat mistakes
should be safeguarded from
Examples are meaningful when connected to personal
experience
Sacrifices hold lessons, examples for learning
Using men’s faults against them leads to distrust
Rewards are safeguards against mistakes
Quran 2:68-70 The Israelites asked Moses to describe the physical qualities of the sacrifice to serve as an example, safeguard, learning Youth and beauty were close to their heart and a key for them to make sense of the lesson
Youth and beauty are features the Israelites treasure
Loss of something valued inspires regret for the loss
Death of young and beautiful causes bystanders to reflect on their own capacity
for innocence
Loss is a cause for aversion, it motivates safeguarding behavior
Quran 2:71,72 Moses said to the Israelites, let this sacrifice be the most beautiful example we’ve ever found, flawless and innocent never having struggled or felt toil You may fight a man to death and conceal the murder but God knows you inside and out, bring forth
Beauty and youth evoke strong sentiments toward innocence
and forbiddance
Preclusion from putting forth physical work for the blessings you enjoy is an
ornament of youth
Youth are enriched by adults with advanced qualities
Quran 2:73,74 A corpse whose killer is unknown should be struck with the flesh of a sacrificed cow The corpse will reveal his killer Visual signs will be revealed from God A hateful heart gushes like a river if split it asunder by satisfaction A hate laden heart doesn’t sink
A man who has satisfied his hatred through killing is
very emotionally invested
Visual signals stimulate memories
A killer will be revealed by his face if the corpse is
struck in his presence
Accomplices of murder hate to be held responsible for it
